Charles Peterson, grunge stories

Charles Peterson is known for having photographed, among other things, the Seattle music scene, mostly collaborating with the Sub Pop Records label, in the grunge's golden age. In his work there are two elements that I feel very close to my way of understanding the images: a certain "rawness" and the attention to the elements surrounding the artists, such as the public.

Mash-up and photography

Very often I love to combine different stylistic elements in my pictures. Like in the example here next, a sporty image, but also graphic and stylized, partly color, partly very desaturated. So, don't we limit the "philosophy" of the mash-up only to the music (as in the tracks below), but we have also to learn to play with it as photographers.
